3. The type of visa issued according to the course chosen.

Multiple-entry visa for studying abroad/university admission (category D national visa):

This type of visa is exclusively for international students enrolling in the following academic programs:

• Bachelor and master courses are two years or a cycle of five or six years;
• academic programs at institutions of higher education in art, music and dance (“AFAM”);

This type of visa will be issued to foreign students studying in the following fields:

The duration of the visa will coincide with the duration of the course.

Study/university visa for one course (short stay visa type C or national visa type D) multiple entry

This type of visa will be issued to international students participating in an 'individual course' or 'internship' organized by the University/AFAM.

The validity of the visa will be proportional to the duration of the course and the student cannot obtain an extension of the residence permit to continue studying an additional course other than the one that allows him to enter Italy.

STUDY/Linguistic Visa (Short Stay Type C or Type D National Visa) Multiple Entry

Article 44bis of Presidential Decree 394/1999 stipulates that adult foreigners may enter Italy to attend higher education or technical vocational education courses, provided they study full-time for a certain period and commensurate with the education obtained in the country of origin.

4. Review requirements

(d) Availability of suitable accommodation in the country.

The student must demonstrate that he has a valid hotel reservation or signed tenancy agreement for the first term, a statement of appropriate accommodation or a vacancy in a student hall of residence.

(e) Insurance coverage

Students must have appropriate medical and hospital insurance (Article 39(3) of T.U. No. 286/1998 and Regulation 01.03.2000 of the Ministry of the Interior), which must also be presented when applying for a residence permit. The following formulas are allowed for this:

(UE)consular statementCertificate of right to health arising from an agreement between Italy and the country of origin;

(two)foreign policy, together with a consular declaration of its validity in Italy, duration and form of care provided, which does not imply a limitation or exception to the rates set for emergency hospitalization throughout the duration;

(three)State agency or company insurance policy, the policy must be accompanied by a statement from the insurance company stating that there are no limitations or exceptions to emergency hospital charges throughout its term of validity.

(f) Academic qualifications

UE） The assessment of foreign qualifications for study purposes is the sole responsibility of the University/AFAM/Higher Education Institution.The pre-registration application will clearly state whether the university considers it necessary to submit a statement of value issued by these universities. If the institution deems it necessary to declare the value, it can issue an endorsement after purchase.

As an alternative to a statement of value, universities can use a Certificate of Diploma Validity issued by ENIC (European Network of Information Centers in Europe) - Narek (EU National Information Center for Academic Recognition), and in Italy the association CIMEA.

tj.)Students must provide original qualifications (or substitute certificates for all legitimate purposes) required by the University to enroll in their chosen program.

(g) Language certificate

(UE)Italian academic courses.Participation in courses taught in Italian requires sufficient knowledge of the Italian language. As a rule, possession of this requirement is verified (preferably remotely) by the university and demonstrated in the pre-registration application.Students can also demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the Italian language by presenting a certificate confirming this knowledge.

If such a certificate is not available, the representative office may request a similar certificate issued by a locally recognized and reliable entity, without prejudice to the student's need to pass the mandatory language exam required by the chosen Italian university.

If the foreign student is unable to produce such proof or has doubts about the authenticity of the documents presented,The Center will issue a rejection notice to the student based on Art. 10 bis L. 241/90.

It should be noted that the initial assessment of sufficient knowledge of the Italian language is particularly important for diplomatic and consular missions working in countries with a high risk of illegal immigration.

(two)Academic courses in foreign languages.As a standard, the university verifies (preferably remotely) knowledge of foreign languages ​​for taught courses and certifies this in the pre-registration application. However, if the university does not carry out this verification, when applying for a visa, the student must provide appropriate evidence confirming his knowledge of the language used in the course to a level not lower than the European Commission's B2 level.

5. Entry visa fees

With the entry into force of the Interministerial Regulation MAECI-MEF of February 15, 2016 (amending the forms referred to in Article 64 of the Legislative Regulation of February 3, 2011 pursuant to Article 28 of 2015),Fee 50 eurosWill apply to applications for 'study' visas from all countries.

6. Obligations of Headquarters

7. Special circumstances

(a) Students who are waiting for their first residence permit and need to return to Italy

The regulations do not allow re-entry visas to be issued to current students who are waiting for their first residence permit.

However, in exceptional cases, according to the Ministry of the Interior Circular No. 400/A/2009/P/1164/12.214.39 dated March 2, 2009 (issued on March 16, 2009 Ministerial Communication 306/91358), - Consular representations Re-entry visas may be issued by the authorities with the consent of the competent police station.

(b) Students who are awaiting the renewal of their residence permit and need to return to Italy

(c) Students who continue their studies in Italy after a sabbatical or at another university abroad.

Students who are already enrolled at an Italian university but temporarily suspend their studies may find that their residence permit has expired and/or not renewed. A similar situation applies to foreign students studying permanently at Italian universities, who are obliged to study a semester or year program abroad in accordance with multilateral agreements between universities on student mobility.

This application presents particular difficulties in terms of handling. In fact, a study visa cannot be issued within a few years of registration.
